The Hiroshima City Manga Library is a city-run library specializing in Japanese comics, also known as "manga"!
The Manga Library's Mission
Our mission is to contribute to the development of manga culture by systematically collecting, preserving, and providing manga and manga related materials, in addition to organizing manga-related events and activities.

- The predecessor of the Hiroshima City Manga Library was the Hijiyama Aozora Library, a modest library where booklovers could casually enjoy reading in the surrounding park.
- In 1997, the Hijiyama Aozora Library underwent major renovations to become a library dedicated specifically to manga, culminating in the establishment of the Hiroshima City Manga Library.
- In 1999, the Asa Reading Room was established as a Hiroshima City Manga Library affiliated facility in Kamiyasu, Asaminami Ward.

In addition to comic collections, educational and culturally relevant manga can be checked out from the Asa Reading Room.
